Charles David Pemberton (born 19th September 1939 in Leyland, Lancashire; died 13th May 2007 in Sutton, London) appeared on Coronation Street in two roles: firstly in October 1968 as Detective-Constable Warburton, investigating the death of Steve Tanner; and he returned to the programme in February 1973 as Johnny Mann, a short-term boyfriend of Rita Littlewood.
He graduated from the Rose Bruford Drama School in 1963.
His other credits include roles in Crossroads, Doctor Who, Dixon of Dock Green, Nearest and Dearest, Special Branch, The Professionals, Danger UXB, Sapphire & Steel, Simon and the Witch, The Dwelling Place and The Vicar of Dibley.
On stage, he appeared in productions of The Golden Rivet, Love's Labour's Lost, Henry V, Othello, Around the World in Eighty Days, Ironhand, The Physicists and The Successor for the Bristol Old Vic. Other works include The Keep, Saint Joan, Poor Horace, The Constant Wife, Play Mas and Thark.
