The Cell Mate was a large woman who shared a cell with Tracy Barlow at Redford Prison in May 2010. When Tracy returned to her cell after causing a ruckus at her grandmother Blanche Hunt's funeral, resolute to get out of prison to care for her daughter Amy, the woman pointed out that Tracy should have considered Amy when she murdered Charlie Stubbs, and that a desire to get out of prison wouldn't be enough to make it happen.
