Catherine Terris (born 1948 in Sunderland) appeared on Coronation Street in two roles: firstly in August 1978 as Marjorie Pearce, who accused Elsie Tanner of clipping her son Jason round the ear and confiscating his football; and she returned to the programme in December 1981 as Mary Bell, who along with her husband Ron, were prospective buyers of 13 Coronation Street when the house was put on the market.
Having trained at LAMDA, her other credits include roles in Beryl's Lot, Within These Walls, The Stars Look Down, When the Boat Comes In, Anna Karenina, Emmerdale Farm, The Franchise Affair, The Glass Virgin, Dangerous Lady, Dangerfield, Berkeley Square, Every Woman Knows a Secret, William and Mary and In the Club, along with film roles in Sacred Hearts, Creation, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and Martyrs Lane.
On stage, she appeared in productions of Pygmalion, The Eve of Saint Venus, Scrape Off the Black, Foot on the Earth, The Ballroom, Queuing for Everest and Into the Blue.
Her brother, the late actor Malcolm Terris, also appeared on Coronation Street in three roles.
