Carol Berlyne (born "Carole A Bloom" on 7th April 1944 in Heywood, Lancashire) appeared on Coronation Street in two roles: firstly in April 1981 as Shirley Bennett, barmaid at the Lord Nelson pub; and she returned to the programme in November 1988 as a woman who spoke to Terry Duckworth at St. Mary's Place as he was trying to remove graffiti that had been sprayed onto Mike Baldwin's Jaguar.

Her other credits include roles in The Villains, The Cuckoo Waltz and All for Love for Granada Television, along with an appearance in The Liver Birds.

On stage, she received good reviews for her lead role in The Second Time Around for the Jewish Theatre Group at the Capital Theatre, Manchester.
