Carl Duering (born "Gerhard Fuchs" on 29th May 1923 in Berlin, died 1st September 2018 in Barnet, London) appeared on Coronation Street in October 1992 as Klaus Muller, a German ex-POW from the Second World War who tracked down ex-army cook Percy Sugden to thank him for his kindness during that conflict.

Based in the UK for much of his long career, he also appeared in The Silver Swan, BBC Sunday-Night Theatre, Armchair Theatre, Interpol Calling, many episodes of the Granada Television serial Biggles (including the episodes written by a reluctant Tony Warren), Maigret, The Avengers, Sherlock Holmes, Redcap, The Saint, Hugh and I, Man in a Suitcase, Hadleigh, Jason King, The Sweeney, Smiley's People, Boon and The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles.

On film, he is probably best remembered for his role in A Clockwork Orange but had a long list of appearances on the silver screen, including The Colditz Story, The Guns of Navarone, The Main Attraction, Operation Crossbow, Darling Lili, Operation: Daybreak, Voyage of the Damned and The Boys from Brazil.

On stage, he appeared in a 1950 production of Journey's End at the Westminster Theatre, London.

Radio work included Suspense, The Exploits of Brigadier Gerard, Wolf Pack, various productions for Saturday-Night Theatre, Afternoon Theatre, The Sunday Play and The Afternoon Play, also A Small Town in Germany, The Price of Silence, The Great and Good Mr Handel, The Spy Who Came in From the Cold, The Death of Anton Webern and Smiley's People. In addition, he wrote many German-language radio courses over several decades for the BBC.
