Carl Chase appeared on Coronation Street in three roles:
- Cyril McGregor, a friend of Eddie Yeats's from Liverpool who along with brother Wesley were in attendance at Eddie and Marion Willis's engagement party in May 1982
- Mick Dexter, a builder who refitted the Rovers' kitchen in April 1992
- Father Abraham, who agreed to marry Les Battersby and Cilla Brown in October 2005.
Either unable or unwilling to reprise the role of Cyril McGregor in the Street spin-off sitcom The Brothers McGregor which launched in 1985, he did however appear in the 1988 episode entitled Name the Day? as a Detective.
His other credits include roles in Brookside, Fairly Secret Army, London's Burning, Medics, Emmerdale, Doctors, Tipping the Velvet, Justice and Moving On, along with the feature films The Bride; Letter to Brezhnev; Cry Freedom; Distant Voices, Still Lives; Batman; Alien 3; Cutthroat Island; The Mummy; Fortress 2; Sordid Lives; There's Only One Jimmy Grimble; Lara Croft: Tomb Raider; Revengers Tragedy; George and the Dragon; Dead Man's Cards and Reds & Blues: The Ballad of Dixie & Kenny.
On stage he has appeared in productions of Scrap, Brick Up the Mersey Tunnels and Liverpool: Rhyme Without Reason.
