Bud Ralston (born as "Frank Tipping" on 13th October 1898 in Chorlton, died 22nd April 1999 in Stockport) appeared in three different roles on Coronation Street:
- A milkman delivering to Ena Sharples in December 1963
- Jimmy Leadbetter, leader of The Flying Horse's tug-of-war team in December 1967
- Wilf Bottomley, a friend of Albert Tatlock's who appeared intermittently between December 1977 and August 1983.
His other credits include roles in 1960s series ITV Play of the Week, Here's Harry, Z Cars and The Liars, along with the films A Kind of Loving and Cup Fever in the same decade.
Bud lived to be over 100 years old and was awarded the French Legion d'Honour in November 1998, in recognition of reaching his century and his service in the First World War.
