Bud Bennett (born "Frederick Bennett") appeared on Coronation Street in October 1963 as the barman at the George and Dragon reception rooms, serving drinks at Jerry and Myra Booth's wedding reception.
The actor was also contracted to appear in Episode 17 (3rd February 1961) as a customer but his part was cut from the transmitted edition.
For most of his life, Mr Bennett was known as a variety artist in the north and in that guise appeared on BBC radio shows such as Worker's Playtime, Blackpool Night, Star Train, Midday Music Hall and A Night at the Varieties, all during the late 1950s and early 1960s.
