Brian Edwards appeared on Coronation Street in December 1994 as chauffeur Bert Russell, who drove Alf Roberts and Betty Turpin to Weatherfield General on a mayoral visit.
His other credits include roles in Bergerac, Sins, Hemingway, Red Shoe Diaries, Cardiac Arrest and Emmerdale, along with the 1999 film Rage.
On stage, he appeared in a production of Mame at London's Theatre Royal, Drury Lane.
