Brenda Elder (born "Rosalind Brenda Elder", 1938 in Manchester) played a total of ten roles on Coronation Street:
- A waitress employed at the Egremont Hotel, where Annie Walker briefly stayed during December 1964
- A female customer shopping at Gamma Garments in February 1967
- Mrs Bolan, in attendance at court in January 1968 to petition for divorce from her husband
- A bride already at the registry office when Dennis Tanner and Jenny Sutton married in May of the same year
- Mark Brittain Warehouse worker Flo in April 1972
- Mrs Hillkirk, mother of firework burns victim Mark Hillkirk, appearing in November 1973
- Shoplifting Eunice Wheeler in December 1975
- A woman who conversed with Rita Fairclough in the foyer of Weatherfield Magistrates Court in April 1978
- Kitchener Street resident Mrs Mossop, in attendance at a protest meeting against the opening of the Graffiti Club in April 1983
- Sally Webster's mother Elsie Seddon, who appeared intermittently between May 1986 and July 1997.
In Daran Little's 1995 book The Coronation Street Story, he stated that at that time Miss Elder held the joint-record with John Pickles for most characters played in the programme with eight parts each, although ten are known for Miss Elder and nine for Mr Pickles. (Anthony Schaeffer holds the current record for roles in the Street with fifteen parts to his name).
Her other credits include The Contenders, The Dustbinmen, Leave It to Charlie, How We Used to Live, The Practice, Brookside, Medics and Heartbeat.
On stage, she appeared in productions of Book of the Month, Fallen Angels, Don't Tell Father, The Bride and the Bachelor, A Taste of Honey, Spring and Port Wine, Way Upstream, The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole Aged 13 3/4 and Romeo and Juliet.
