Bella was a naive schoolgirl who appeared to have been the only pupil at Weatherfield High who didn't realise the true nature of Mason Radcliffe. He bullied and intimidated most of his fellow pupils, none more so than Liam Connor. In November 2023, he pulled a knife on Liam. His stepbrother Jake Windass reported the matter to the police but the wily thug had managed to dispose of the weapon by passing it on to Dylan Wilson. It was some months before Maria Connor and Gary Windass found out about the knife and managed to persuade Liam to make a complaint. Although the knife was found in Dylan's possession, Mason's fingerprints were on it and he, along with Dylan, was charged. Dylan pleaded guilty and had to attend as a witness at Mason’s trial.
Dylan was taken back to London by his mother Violet Wilson, furious that her son had got himself into such trouble and she hadn't been told about it by Dylan's father, Sean Tully. Almost immediately after their return to Weatherfield for the trial, mother and son went to the Viaduct Bistro for lunch where Bella quickly caught up with them, inviting Dylan to go for an ice cream with herself and two other friends at the precinct. She told Dylan and Violet that she only had one hour as she had to go to swimming practise and Violet was impressed to hear that the girl was a county champion and therefore gave her permission. However once out of their hearing, she rang Mason and told him their plans. Having obtained the ice creams, Dylan found himself surrounded by Mason and his gang and was told that if he didn't change his evidence, Mason's two older brothers would be coming for him and his father. Bella watched on in shock and after the thugs had gone explained to Dylan that she had been taken in by Mason and had only fetched Dylan along because she thought she was acting as a peacemaker between them.
Dylan summoned the courage to keep to his statement and Mason was convicted and jailed.
