Basil Moss (born 25th May 1935) appeared in Coronation Street in December 1968 as Martin Hepworth, a friend of Ken Barlow.

He is best know for playing Alan Drew for two years from 1963 in the BBC soap Compact and Peter Tyson for eleven years from 1969 in the Radio 2 serial Waggoners' Walk but also appeared in a wide range of other parts including Emergency-Ward 10, ITV Play of the Week, Father Dear Father, Dixon of Dock Green , UFO, The Regiment, First Among Equals, The Ruth Rendell Mysteries, Minder, The Bill, Silent Witness and Heartbeat.

On film he appeared in You Only Live Twice and One Brief Summer. Stage roles include Dear Augustine at the Royal Court Theatre.
