Ashley Barker appeared on Coronation Street in two roles: firstly in February 1981 as Terry, a thuggish lorry driver who caused trouble in Jim's Cafe when he groped assistant Sandra Webb; and he returned to the programme intermittently between December 1998 and March 1999 as the far more respectable Andrew Yorke, manager at Weatherfield General and boss of Martin Platt.
His other television credits include roles in How We Used to Live, Snacker, Crown Court, All Creatures Great and Small, Emmerdale Farm, A Kind of Loving, the sitcom Constant Hot Water which featured Patricia Phoenix in one of her last major roles, Final Run, The Bill, Gold, Dinnerladies, Peep Show and Hotel Babylon.
