Arthur John Spreckley (born 21st February 1915 in Aberdeen, died 2002 in Southport) played six minor parts in Coronation Street over a period of twenty-nine years:
- A crooked club barman in December 1966
- Charlie, a postman, in February 1968 and February 1972
- Minibus driver Fred Makin in December 1970
- A taxi driver who bought Hilda Ogden back home from Chesterfield in January 1976
- British Legion customer Josh Carter in April 1992
- Skinner's Bookies customer George in February 1995
He also appeared in Inspector Maggot Pays a Surprise Visit, an episode of the spin-off The Brothers McGregor, transmitted in February 1987.
His other television credits include roles in Crossroads, Mr. Rose, Her Majesty's Pleasure, Crown Court, The Liver Birds, G.B.H., The Darling Buds of May, Heartbeat and The Famous Five.
On stage, he appeared in productions of Glamour Girl and Uproar in the House, both at the Opera House in Scarborough.
