Armand de Beaux was the second husband of Raquel Watts and the father of her second child.

Raquel first crossed paths with Armand when she was living with her sister Bernice in London shortly after giving birth to daughter Alice in 1997. Bernice was a nurse on the cancer ward where Armand had brought his terminally ill wife Elodie for ultimately unsuccessful specialist treatment. Worried about the care of her two young daughters after she died, Elodie was put in touch with an out of work Raquel through Bernice and Raquel returned to France with Alice and the de Beaux family to be a live-in nanny.

After a few months, Elodie passed away and much of the responsibility for the children fell to Raquel as a grief stricken Armand struggled to be around them. Raquel felt pity for Armand and endeavoured to help him love his children again with their feelings for each other slowly developing. In late 1999, Raquel fell pregnant by Armand and he was keen for them to get married although Raquel was still legally wed to her first husband, Curly. Raquel visited Curly on the night of the millennium and informed him of her engagement to Armand and also the existence of Alice of whom he was the father. After talking things over, Curly agreed to grant Raquel a divorce and she returned to live with Armand in France.
