Anthony Smee (born 22nd November 1949 in Hatfield, Hertfordshire) appeared on Coronation Street in June 1981 as John Ridley, personnel officer at Newton & Ridley who interviewed Fred and Eunice Gee with regard to running their own pub.
He trained at the Rose Bruford College.
His other television credits include roles in Crown Court, House of Caradus, Rentaghost, Brass, Agatha Christie's Miss Marple: The Body in the Library, Brookside, Framed, To Play the King, The Bill, Have Your Cake and Eat It, EastEnders and Doctors.
Film roles include Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi, The English Patient, Hilary and Jackie and Parting Shots.
On stage, he appeared in productions of Twelfth Night, Ships, The Upside Down Town, For King and Country, Dracula, Cloud Nine, Cuckoo, How the Other Half Loves, Canterbury Tales, Private Lives, Reader, Flow My Tears, the Policeman Said and a touring production of Mr Maugham at Home.
