Anthony Benson was a bit-part actor who appeared in many television series from the mid 1960s to the early 1990s. Among his roles were parts in The Wednesday Play, Z Cars, Ladykillers, Muck and Brass, All Creatures Great and Small, Emmerdale, Hi-de-Hi!, Emmerdale, How We Used to Live and Chancer. One of his last appearances was in the award-winning drama G.B.H, written by Alan Bleasdale.

In the cinema, he appeared in the two-part adaptation of Little Dorrit starring Derek Jacobi in 1988.
