Annie Fitzmaurice (born in Knotty Ash, Liverpool) appeared on Coronation Street in two roles: firstly between April and May 2001 as DS Groves, an officer involved in the investigation following Toyah Battersby's rape; and she returned to the programme between February and March 2010 as Lake Windermere holiday cottage owner Jane Kenworthy, who jointly with husband Mark, submitted a statement to police officers upon learning of Joe McIntyre's death.

Her other credits include roles in The Bill, Extremely Dangerous, Brookside, Holby City, Cold Feet, Emmerdale, Powers, The Royal, The Street, The Royal Today, Waterloo Road and Doctors, along with the 2006 film Dead Man's Cards.

On stage, she appeared in productions including The Just, Accidental Death of an Anarchist, Shoot Me in the Heart, Tom's Midnight Garden, Twelfth Night, The Canterville Ghost, Throwing Stones and Fraulein Pollinger.

As co-founder of Coal Theatre Company in Manchester, she conceived, created and performed all of their work: Johnny Come Lately, The Fragility of X, Pub and Not With That Hand.
