Ann Margaret Nicholson Rye (born 15th February 1935 in Staple, Kent; died 27th August 2019 in Oldham) appeared on Coronation Street in six roles:
- A hospital sister on duty when Susan Barlow was rushed in with acute appendicitis in July 1970 (credited as "Anne Rye")
- Derek Wilton's landlady Mrs. Bingley in December 1987
- Ruby Mottram, a helper at the Friends of Weatherfield Hospital Charity Shop, who appeared between February and July 1991
- Emiline Pendry, a Weatherfield Gazette food critic on the panel of judges at the Sausage Trail finals in April 2001
- Joan Bannister who appeared in June 2003 as the wife of lecherous Lothario Wally Bannister
- Wanda Brinsley, the eccentrically-dressed pensioner friend of Blanche Hunt who appeared intermittently between July 2004 and January 2005.
With an acting CV dating back to the early 1960s, her other credits included roles in The Power Game, A Farewell to Arms, Dr. Finlay's Casebook, The Avengers, Nearest and Dearest, The Onedin Line, Angels, The Practice, Mapp & Lucia, Last of the Summer Wine, Brass, Hetty Wainthropp Investigates, Heartbeat, The Royal, Twisted Tales, Doctors and Shameless.
On stage, she appeared in productions of Robinson Crusoe, Murder at the Vicarage, Saint Joan, Hamlet, Andorra, The Master Builder, Busybody, The Disorderly Woman, And a Nightingale Sang, Blithe Spirit, The Life and Death of a Buffalo Soldier and The Beaux' Stratagem.
