Angela Mary Rooks (born 26th January 1923 in Towcester, Northamptonshire; died 1st November 2006 in Northwood, London) appeared on Coronation Street between March and April 1988 and in March 2002 as Eunice Watts, mother of Curly Watts (the role was played by Georgine Anderson when the character returned in December 1995).
An original Tiller Girl, she contracted tuberculosis during World War II while serving with ENSA. Having undergone an operation to remove a lung, she was forced to give up her dancing career.
Her other credits included roles in Ace of Wands, Murder, The Children of the New Forest, A Question of Guilt, Mapp & Lucia, The Bill, London Bridge and Aquila, along with the 1983 film The Terence Davies Trilogy.
On stage, she appeared in productions of Three Sisters, Toytown, Under Milk Wood, The Boy, Noah, Barnstaple, Equus, The Prodigal Father, Ten Little Indians, The Good and Faithful Servant, A Murder is Announced, Visiting Hour, The Ballroom, The Secret Garden, Happy End, Inheritance and Rosmersholm.
