Angela Pleasence (born 30th September 1941 in Chapeltown, Sheffield) appeared on Coronation Street in January 1968 as Monica Sutton, one of the hippies who set up a "commune" at No.11.
The actress daughter of Donald Pleasence, she graduated from RADA in 1963.
Remaining most famous for her role as Catherine Howard in the 1970 BBC television series The Six Wives of Henry VIII, she also appeared in The Possessed, A Legacy, Murder at the Wedding, The Walls of Jericho, The Barchester Chronicles, Mansfield Park, Casualty, The Bill, Whitechapel and Happy Valley.
On stage, she appeared in productions of A Midsummer Night's Dream, The City Madam, Spring 1600 and The Easter Man for the Birmingham Repertory Company. Other works include You Were So Sweet When You Were Little, The Bitter Tears of Petra Von Kant, The Hothouse, The Cherry Orchard, Ghetto and The Late Middle Classes.
