Angela was the receptionist at the posh Gerard's Salon. In 1965, she told off an impertinent Lucille Hewitt when the 15-year-old came in looking for Dennis Tanner without first enquiring at the reception desk. Visibly annoyed by Lucille not reciprocating her "Good afternoon", Angela drew a blank at her request to see "Mr. Tanner". It was only when Lucille mentioned the hairdresser's first name that the receptionist recognised him as their "Mr. Dennis". Following the exchange, Lucille commented derisively to Dennis that the "toffee-nosed twit" probably had to put make-up on that thick to hide the muck.

Angela was non-speaking in her first appearance. Credited as "Receptionist", the character was named in dialogue.
