Andy Secombe (born 26th April 1953 in Mumbles Head, Wales) appeared in Coronation Street in January 2020 as the Judge at the trial of Josh Tucker on two charges of rape.
He trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama and his other television roles include The Legend of Robin Hood, Fox, Fast Forward, Star Cops, The Play on One, The Bill, Executive Stress, This Way Up, Peak Practice, Casualty, Britannia and Killing Eve. He wrote several episodes of the children's series Bob the Builder and was a presenter of both Play School and Play Away.
Film roles include I Don't Want to Be Born, Adventures of a Taxi Driver and the voice of Watto for the Star Wars franchise. Stage work includes Hamlet, Godspell, Stags & Hens, King Lear, The Rivals, Darling of the Day, Around the World in Eighty Days, Long Days' Journey into Night and The Invisible Man.
His father was the famous singer, comedian and actor Sir Harry Secombe, best known for his work on the seminal 1950s radio comedy The Goon Show and Andy played one of his father's characters, Neddie Seagoon, in a 50th anniversary tribute in 2001.
He has published five novels: Limbo, Limbo II, The Last House in the Galaxy Endgame, Looking for Mr Piggy-Wig and Growing up with the Goons.
