Andrew Robb (born 14th March 1970 in Exeter) appeared on Coronation Street between April and June 1998 as Darren Whateley, the man convicted for the murder of Brian Tilsley in February 1989 (the role having been portrayed by actor Ian Aspinall in his original appearance, and credited as "Disco Youth").
His other credits include roles in Wycliffe, Casualty, The Bill, Peak Practice, 24Seven, Down to Earth, Wild West, The Colour of Magic, The Invisibles and Doc Martin, along with the films The Da Vinci Code and The Woman in Black.
On stage, he appeared in productions of A Christmas Carol, Life's A Dream, The Taming of the Shrew, Lost In a Mirror, The Real Don Juan, Hamlet, Soldier's Song, Stig of the Dump, A Weekend in England, Getting On, Marnie, Anything Goes and The Rivals.
While acting, he wrote a number of pieces for stage, television and radio before a chance encounter with best-selling author Alex Garland inspired him to start writing children's fiction. His debut novel "Geekhood: Close Encounters of the Girl Kind" was shortlisted for the Waterstones Children's Book Prize, 2013.
