Andrew D. Hay (born 1954 in Scarborough) appeared on Coronation Street in three roles:
- Mr. Cheetham, who along with his wife were prospective buyers of 9 Coronation Street in April 1983
- Taxi Driver Willy Murtough, working at Weatherfield Cabs with Don Brennan in June 1988
- The manager of The Ullswater Hotel in the Lake District where Steve McDonald and Joanne Khan were taken on as kitchen hands between July and August 1990.
His other acting credits include roles in The Glamour Girls, Juliet Bravo, Brookside, Travelling Man, Floodtide, Watching, Medics, The Bill, Casualty, Backup and Spooks.
Artistic Director at Bolton's Octagon Theatre between 1987 and 1991, he directed productions including Two, Baths and Eight Miles High. Other works include The Colour of Nonsense, Frankenstein - A Truly Monstrous Experiment, Denial, Blues Brother Soul Sisters, A Bitter Herb, A Christmas Carol, One for the Road, The Man with Green Hair, Up 'n' Under, A Streetcar Named Desire, Up the Feeder, Down the Mouth and Back Again and All My Sons.
On-screen directing credits include EastEnders, Merseybeat, Judge John Deed, Waking the Dead, Silent Witness, Spooks, Trial & Retribution, Hotel Babylon, Identity, New Tricks, Foyle's War, The Musketeers, Dickensian, Lucky Man, Jamestown, The Last Kingdom and All Creatures Great and Small.
He is married to actress Lynda Rooke who herself appeared on Coronation Street in four roles. The couple live in Bristol and have three children.
