Manchester-born actor and playwright Andrew Sheridan has appeared four times in Coronation Street between December 2006 and January 2009 as a Police Officer, named by the actor as George Coulter.

In 2007 he appeared in the film Control about the life of Joy Division singer Ian Curtis and the experience of working with writer Matt Greenhalgh inspired him to pen his own play, eventually title Alone aka Before The Echoes Die Away which won first prize in the Bruntwood Royal Exchange competition after it was staged at Manchester's Royal Exchange Theatre in 2009.

He has appeared many times on television in series such as Shameless, Heartbeat and Clocking Off and on stage in Antigone, Jonah & Otto and The Rise and Fall of Little Voice.
