Andrew McCulloch (born 27th October 1945 in Glasgow) appeared on Coronation Street in two roles: firstly in August 1987 as Mac, the owner of his eponymous bar in Torremolinos who gave Bet Lynch employment when she absconded there; and he returned to the programme in October 1990 as businessman Charlie Travers, a friend of Mike Baldwin, who helped him con Jackie Ingram into not selling her factory from under his feet.
He trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama.
His other credits include roles in Disneyland, Nicholas Nickleby, The Children of the New Forest, Maybury, Gulliver in Lilliput, Cloud Howe, The Baker Street Boys, By the Sword Divided, The Odd Job Man, Taggart, Casualty, The Bill, Sleepers, EastEnders, The Chief, Roger Roger, Heartbeat, Monsignor Renard, Messiah: The Harrowing and Holby City.
Film roles include The Blood on Satan's Claw, Macbeth, Kidnapped, Up the Front, Nothing But the Night, The Land That Time Forgot, Priest of Love and Worth Winning.
One stage, he appeared in productions of Chips with Everything, Henry V, Henry IV, Parts I & II, Time and the Conways, Titus Andronicus, A View From the Bridge, A Man's a Man and The Crucible.
While for radio, he was heard in the drama Polaris.
Outside of acting, he has written for many television series, often with fellow actor John Flanagan, including Doctor Who, Boon, Robin Hood, Coasting, Sleepers, The Good Guys, Pie in the Sky, Peak Practice, Ballykissangel, Margery and Gladys, Murder in Suburbia, Heartbeat and The Royal.
He is married to actress Amanda Reiss, who herself appeared on Coronation Street. The couple have two children.
