Andrew Knott (born 22nd November 1979 in Salford) appeared on Coronation Street in two roles: firstly in September 1990 as Darren Featherstone, a young boy whose lost budgie was retrieved by Mavis Wilton; and he made a return to the programme in both May and December 1997 as Liam Shepherd, the thuggish boyfriend of Zoe Tattersall.
He trained at the Oldham Theatre Workshop.
Perhaps best known as Henry Green in Where the Heart Is from 1997 to 2001, his other television credits include roles in Children's Ward, Cracker, Emmerdale, Casualty, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Gavin & Stacey, Spooks: Code 9, Waterloo Road, The Driver, Black Work, Prey, Grantchester, Strangers, Silent Witness, Tin Star, Leonardo, Ackley Bridge and Maryland.
Film roles include The Secret Garden, Black Beauty, Police 2020, The History Boys, The Sickhouse, Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll, Ollie Kepler's Expanding Purple World, In Our Name, Seamonsters, Spike Island, The Unbeatables, The Lady in the Van, My Cousin Rachel and Swimming with Men.
He made his Broadway debut when the National Theatre's production of The History Boys toured worldwide.
