Alice Parrott was the daughter of the late Raymond Parrott. Having being stationed in Egypt during the Suez Crisis in late-1956, Raymond began an affair with Sylvia Goodwin in 1959, despite the fact that she had a husband and young son Roy Cropper. While Sylvia's affair was kept secret from her family until her death in January 2019 - when Roy found a ring with Raymond's initials engraved, but the affair was common knowledge to Alice and her mother. Despite having forgiven Raymond when he called it off, mention of Sylvia's name would still bring large conflict between Alice's parents until her father's death in 2006.
In June 2019, Wayne Hayes was able to track Alice down, after becoming involved in the mystery of Sylvia's ring - however, Roy wanted nothing more to do with the investigation after discovering his mother's affair. Following persuasion from Brian Packham and Cathy Matthews, Roy decided to meet with Alice to learn the full truth - and also found out that Raymond and Sylvia lived only a few streets away from each other in Accrington. Before departing, Alice told Roy that although they were only "together" for six months, according to their correspondence, Raymond and Sylvia continued their affair until 1965. Alice left some of Sylvia's love letters with Roy before leaving her telephone number, telling him to get in touch if he had any more questions.
