Alice Grimshaw was the wife of Arthur Grimshaw and mother to Elsie and Fay.

Alice fell pregnant many times during her marriage and aside from a few miscarriages gave birth to ten children who survived their early infancy, followed by a stillborn son in April 1938. Due to complications during the birth, this child would also be her last. Her eldest daughters, Elsie and Fay who shared most of the load within the household were quietly pleased about this and while upset by the death felt that the latest child had been spared a life in the squalor of Gas Street. Alice was killed during the Blitz alongside her husband and seven of her children when the family home of 18 Gas Street was bombed by the Luftwaffe in the Second World War.

In 2011, when Julie Carp was attempting to trace the relationship between the Grimshaw family and Tanner family, Alice was mentioned in passing by Dennis Tanner.
