Alfie Franklin is the infant son of Abi Webster and Imran Habeeb. He currently lives with Abi and his stepfather Kevin at 13 Coronation Street.
Alfie was conceived during a one-night stand between Abi and Imran while they fought to put Abi's son Seb's killers behind bars. Abi had been unaware that she was pregnant until she went into early labour in 2022. Alfie was initially raised by Imran and wife Toyah but following Imran's death, Abi gained custody.
Biography[]
Alfie was conceived as the result of a one-night stand immediately after a court case regarding the murder of Abi's son Seb, where Imran was the lawyer representing one of the defendants. Abi was unaware she was pregnant until she went into labour three months early in March 2022, immediately after taking drugs following a confession to her husband Kevin about the one-night-stand. During her labour in hospital, Abi gave a fake name out of fear of being reported in relation to the drugs. After the birth, the baby was placed in an incubator, and Abi ran away back home, choosing to abandon him. Soon afterwards, her neighbour Aggie Bailey determined she was the runaway mother after recognising her clothes from CCTV, and Abi was forced to return to hospital for further treatment.
Abi once again rejected her son when she was visited by a social worker, but after meeting him and learning he needed a major bowel operation, she became determined to keep him. She named him Alfie after Seb's favourite teddy bear, and gave him her maiden surname. During this time, Abi was supported emotionally and financially by Toyah Battersby, Imran's fiancée who was unaware of Alfie's parentage. Imran himself deduced he was the father based on dates and agreed to represent Abi in a custody hearing. At the end of the hearing, the judge ruled in favour of Alfie temporarily going into care.
To help Abi win custody, Imran had his name placed on the birth certificate, which ultimately led to Toyah learning the identity of the father when Kevin found it. The trauma of the situation caused Abi to nearly take a bottle of morphine. Imran learned that she had been in possession of the medication and became convinced she was back on drugs and would therefore not be fit to raise Alfie. Imran decided to apply for sole custody and although Toyah had left him over his deception, she took him back so they could be Alfie's parents. The couple were granted temporary custody of Alfie based on Imran's paternity. Wanting to build a case against Abi, Imran paid a corrupt paralegal Ben Chancellor to find evidence that she was using drugs again but no evidence was found.
After Imran's passing, Abi reapplied for custody of Alfie, which was granted under supervision of a foster carer.
His birthday is the same as his elder half-brother Seb.

Alfie has been played by Carter & Oakley Razak Townsend since Episode 10630/1 (4th May 2022). In all previous appearances, the character was portrayed by a prosthetic baby.
