Alan Moore appeared in Coronation Street between July 1989 and February 1990 as Maurice Jones, father of Steph Barnes and the builder/property developer who bought up the south side of the street.
He trained at the Bristol Old Vic.
He also appeared in the regular role of Dr. Jim Fletcher in the BBC drama series Owen, M.D from 1971 to 1972. His other credits include Nearest and Dearest, Chessgame, Bulman and Robin of Sherwood.
On stage, he appeared in productions of The Skin of Our Teeth, The Knack, Monsieur Barnett, The Devils, And People All Around, Treasure Island, The Lady's Not for Burning, The Orchestra, Juno and the Paycock, Loot, The Recruiting Officer, The Cherry Orchard and Crown Matrimonial for the Bristol Old Vic and Everything in the Garden, Narrow Road to the Deep North, Macbeth and Pinocchio for the Library Theatre, Manchester. Other works include A Tale of Two Cities, Andorra, Conduct Unbecoming, Vivat!
