Alan Bromly (13th September, 1915 - ? September 1995) worked as a director on 30 episodes of Coronation Street from December 1976 to February 1980. He also directed episodes of Z Cars in the 1960s and Crown Court, Crossroads and Doctor Who in the 1970s. He was a prolific producer, working on numerous television serials in the 1950s and 1960s, some of which he also directed. Prominent among his credits are several seasons of Paul Temple and Out of the Unknown from 1969 to 1971.
He was married for forty-seven years to the actress June Ellis who herself appeared in two roles in Coronation Street.
