Alan Bennion (born 18th April 1930 in Northwich; died 27th July 2018 in Brighton) appeared in Coronation Street in September 1969 as gallery owner Bernard Fielding.

Best known for his role as various “Ice Lords” in three Doctor Who adventures from 1969 to 1974, he had a long list of other television credits to his name including Sexton Blake, Z Cars, The Troubleshooters, Softly Softly: Task Force, New Scotland Yard, Juliet Bravo, The Return of Sherlock Holmes and Next of Kin, along with the films Carry on Up the Khyber, God's Outlaw, The Moneymen and B & B.

On stage, he appeared in productions of Mr Kettle and Mrs Moon, The Bed-Sitting Room, Mother's Boy, The Imperial Nightingale, Arsenic and Old Lace, The Affair, My Three Angels, A Song at Twilight, Gaslight, The Cenci, Semi-Monde, Becket, Henry VIII, Relative Values and Mist and Dreams.
