Abersoch is a village in the community of Llanengan in Gwynedd, Wales. It is a popular coastal seaside resort, with around 800 residents. Originally a fishing port, it is now a tourist centre specialising in dinghy sailing and other watersports such as windsurfing and jet-skiing.
Leonard Swindley booked the Parade Hotel in the village for his honeymoon to Emily Nugent after their scheduled wedding to him in July 1964 but when she jilted him he rang the establishment and changed the booking from a double to a single room and went there by himself.
In January 1984, Mike Baldwin investigated Don Watkins, the manager of his Graffiti Club enterprise on Rosamund Street, and discovered from his girlfriend Judi Spencer that he had a cabin cruiser in Abersoch which he had purchased from money he had fiddled out of the club's takings. Don ran off before Mike could catch up with him and exact any justice.
After their wedding in September 1991, Martin Platt and Gail Tilsley enjoyed a week's honeymoon in the resort which was a surprise present to them from Barry and Barbara Platt, Martin's parents. The couple returned there in September 1992.
