Aadi Alahan is the son of Dev and Sunita Alahan, and twin brother of Asha.

Born in 2006, the twins were raised in Bramhall before moving to Coronation Street when their divorced parents reconciled. They were closer to their mother, and were deeply affected by Sunita's tragic death in 2013. Dev then raised Aadi and Asha as a single father, with Mary Taylor acting as their nanny until they were teenagers.

More recently, Aadi has dated his first girlfriend, Summer Spellman, survived a car explosion along with his father and sister, and been shot while protecting fiancée Kelly Neelan. He and Kelly had planned to elope, but Kelly instead left Weatherfield to escape her past. A frequent source of friction between Aadi and Dev has been Dev's supposed favouring of Asha over him.

In 2023, Aadi left the shop to work for entrepreneur Darren Vance, and had a formative sexual experience with Darren's wife Courtney. When their affair was exposed, he and Courtney lost their job and marriage respectively, but stayed together and moved into rented accommodation at Flat 18, Weatherfield Precinct, with Aadi taking employment at Freshco to support them. Courtney has since returned to Darren, leaving Aadi heartbroken, and he moved back into the family home of 7 Coronation Street.

Aadi was born on 13th January 2006, just before his twin sister Asha. In March 2006, Sunita still hadn't got back together with his father and decided to leave the Street with the twins.

In late 2009, the twins returned when Sunita resumed her relationship with Dev. They moved into his Dev's flat in March 2010, after his mother and father reconciled. Aadi and Asha thought it was funny if Aadi went out onto the balcony of 9 Victoria Court, however, when Sunita tried to get him in she couldn't and Dev broke the handle when he tried to open the closed balcony door. After many attempts they failed, though Graeme Proctor was riding by and came to the rescue just as Sunita was going to call 999.

In April 2013, the twins lost their mother when Sunita died from her injuries following a fire in the Rovers Return Inn - the fire being started by her ex-boyfriend Karl Munro, who also turned off her life support machine in Weatherfield General.

Following a video of Asha undressing for her crush, Corey Brent, being spread around the pupils of Weatherfield High by Kelly Neelan, Dev was dissatisfied by headteacher Mr Griffin's response, and enrolled Aadi and Asha into Oakhill School.

Background information

Both Aadi and Asha Alahan were played by triplets Hannah, Harris & Ria Ahmed in 2006. When Aadi returned in 2009, the role was taken over by Zennon Ditchett. Ditchett left the role at the end of 2019 to focus on his A-levels, having made his final appearance the previous October. Since the character's next appearance in April 2020, he has been played by Adam Hussain.

In January 2015, the birth date of the twins was amended on screen to 13th January 2005 when they were shown celebrating their tenth birthdays in Episode 8554 (14th January 2015). They have remained one year older than their initially described ages ever since.
