A Midsummer Night's Dream is a play by William Shakespeare written around 1595 or 1596.
Weatherfield Comprehensive staged a production of the play in September 1996 which was due to be directed by teacher Viv Prendergast. She was suddenly taken ill and had a spell in hospital. Headteacher Sue Jeffers, her mind not really on the job due to her husband recently deserting her, bullied Ken Barlow into taking Viv's place which he was only able to do after arranging extra child-minding duties for his son Daniel Osbourne. Amongst the cast were Becky Palmer, Lauren Hickson and Tiffany Aldridge.
