Coronation Street history[]
- 1939 - Ken Barlow born.
- 1978 - Deirdre Langton discovers that Ray's affair is with Janice Stubbs and confronts her. Ray finds out that Deirdre knows of his dalliance when she tells him to get lost.
- 1985 - Bet Lynch sacks Jack Duckworth from the Rovers for arguing in there with Vera. Jack blames Vera for losing him the only job he's ever enjoyed.
- 1989 - Ken's relationship with Wendy Crozier deepens when she cooks him a meal for his fiftieth birthday as he thinks that Deirdre has forgotten, whereas she is sat at home with a surprise meal waiting for him.
- 1998 - Anne Malone tries to set up Spider Nugent on a charge of criminal damage by spraying antifreeze on goods in the freezer storeroom at Freshco's but finds herself locked in the room for the night with no one there to come to her aid.
- 2000 - Martin Platt moves out of No.8 and into the flat at 18a Victoria Street.
- 2005 - Les Battersby finds Father Abraham, a failed drunken priest, to marry him and Cilla Brown.
- 2006 - On the day of his wedding to Bev Unwin, Fred Elliott calls at Audrey Roberts's house to explain to her why he can't marry her instead. About to leave the house, he dies suddenly of a massive stroke.
- 2017 - Dane Hibbs tells Max Turner and Lily Platt that Shona Ramsey is the mother of Clayton Hibbs who killed their mother Kylie Platt a year ago. Later, Shona decides to break up with David Platt.
- 2019 - Ken celebrates his eightieth birthday with a video call from Emily Bishop in Edinburgh but the celebrations are cut short when Sinead Osbourne announces that her cancer is untreatable and she only has weeks to live.
- 2023 - Tim Metcalfe discovers the body of Teddy Thompkins in Weatherfield Canal and calls the police, but Stephen Reid lies in wait inside Tim's cab and tries to strangle him. Tim initially manages to escape, but Stephen gives chase and ultimately renders Tim unconscious before putting him inside the boot of the cab. The police later locate Teddy's body.
