5 Crimea Street was a set of flats, developed by Mike Baldwin.
In January 1997, Mike's business Baldwin's Sportswear had a lucrative contract with Stephen Reid's company Kbec terminated. In financial trouble, Mike had to sell the flats to a Mr Bottomley. His business was one of letting student accommodation, which meant the remaining tenants had to move out.
