- 1961 - The residents go on an Easter trip to Windermere.
- 1963 - Christine Appleby breaks off her engagement to Frank Barlow.
- 1964 - Bill Webster marries Alison Cartwright.
- 1972 - The guests congregate at the Mawdsley Street Chapel to see the wedding of Ernest Bishop and Emily Nugent. Among the wedding guests is ex-resident Esther Hayes.
- 1978 - Ida Clough applies for the vacant supervisor's position at Baldwin's Casuals.
- 1985 - Gail Tilsley leaves husband Brian and moves to her mother's flat in Cadishead.
- 1989 - Kevin Webster is forced to work with the boss's son, Mark Casey.
- 1996 - Maureen Holdsworth discovers that husband Reg has run off with another woman, Yvonne Bannister.
- 2000 - Tony Horrocks's funeral takes place.
- 2006 - An ill and confused Mike Baldwin turns up at his son Mark Redman's house in Doncaster. Michelle Connor auditions as a background singer for Vernon Tomlin's band.
- 2013 - Karl Munro disconnects Sunita Alahan's life-support equipment when he learns she is recovering, which causes her to die. Tyrone Dobbs visits Kirsty Soames in prison and tells her to stay away from him and Ruby forever.
- 2015 - Faye Windass gives birth to a girl at 13, having kept her pregnancy a secret from all but her friend Craig Tinker until going into labour.
- 2020 - Yasmeen Metcalfe finds proof that Geoff has been seeing a prostitute.

- 1962 - The Equity actors' strike came to an end. The strike began on 1st November 1961 and saw the cast of Coronation Street reduced to a core of, eventually, just thirteen actors. The first episode to feature the return of another character was Episode 142 on 23rd April with the reappearance of Jennifer Moss as Lucille Hewitt.
- 1977 - Marc Baylis (Rob Donovan) born.
- 1978 - First appearance of Ida Clough.
- 1989 - First appearance of Mark Casey.
- 2006 - First appearance of Michelle Connor.
- 2013 - Final appearances of Sunita Alahan and Kirsty Soames.
- 2022 - Director Derrick Goodwin dies.
