- 1970 - Lucille Hewitt returns from a seven month stay in Ireland with Concepta Hewitt.
- 1977 - At the last minute, Rita Littlewood decides not to leave for Tenerife, but to stay and marry Len Fairclough.
- 1981 - Hilda Ogden is horrified to discover that Eddie Yeats has thrown out all of their laundry, thinking it to be rubbish as it was in a black bin bag.
- 1994 - Maud Grimes mistakes a compliment from Percy Sugden as a proposal of marriage.
- 1998 - Deirdre Rachid spends her first night in prison with cellmate Jackie Dobbs.
