- 1985 - Ken Barlow asks Deirdre to write to Ray Langton as he wants to formally adopt Tracy.
- 1991 - Don Brennan considers divorcing wife Ivy, tired of her interference in the affairs of former daughter-in-law Gail.
- 1994 - Mavis Wilton has her first-ever meeting with Derek's ex-wife, the fearsome Angela Hawthorne. She turns up at The Kabin to allay Mavis's fears when she believes that Angela has designs on Derek.
- 1998 - At a night out at a club Zoe Tattersall meets Ben Andrews and Ruth Morgan who unknown to her are recruiting new followers for their religious cult.
- 2002 - Having been goaded beyond endurance, Ken Barlow punches Aidan Critchley in the classroom and is arrested by the police.
- 2011 - John Stape confesses his crimes to the police and subsequently dies from severe injuries sustained in a car crash.
