- 1960 - May Hardman complains of head pains but her daughter Christine thinks that she's attention seeking. In the dead of the night, Ena Sharples discharges herself from hospital.
- 1964 - Charlie Moffitt is sacked from the Viaduct Sporting Club. The Ogdens invite David Barlow round to No.13 for tea.
- 1966 - Lucille Hewitt breaks off her two-day engagement to Alistair Bradshaw.
- 1981 - Annie Walker announces a cocktail hour in the Rovers between 5.30pm and 6.30pm, during which time the beer will be 10p cheaper and spirits half price. The enthusiastic male regulars get drunk as Fred Gee and Bet Lynch are run off their feet.
- 1983 - Elsie Tanner meets old flame Bill Gregory for the first time in thirteen years.
- 1993 - Sian Powers is born.
- 2001 - Curly and Emma Watts decide on the name Ben for their son.
- 2003 - On his stag night, Ciaran McCarthy punches Dev Alahan and ends up in a police cell, which is what he hoped so he could get out of marrying Sunita Parekh the next day.
- 2015 - Johnny Connor gets the DNA results back and tells Carla Connor that he's her father. Tracy Barlow finds out that Rob Donovan has been stringing her along.

- 1914 - Bernard Youens (Stan Ogden) is born.
- 1968 - Christmas in the Street, a fifty-minute special, was broadcast at 6.15pm. Starring Arthur Leslie and Doris Speed as Jack and Annie Walker, the two characters remembered Christmas events on the street with extended clips from previous festive episodes.
- 1983 - Granada Television repeated Episode 742 from 24th January 1968 as a tribute to Violet Carson who had died two days before.
- 1992 - The BBC repeated Episode 95 from 8th November 1961 as part of an evening of programmes called Granadaland.
- 1998 - First appearance of Alison Wakefield.
- 2020 - Writer Adele Rose died.
