- 1970 - Anita Reynolds accepts a proposal from Len Fairclough, but Len is worried about the age difference and calls it off that same day.
- 1974 - Billy Walker returns to Weatherfield to buy the Canal Garage from Alan Howard.
- 1976 - Disturbed John Lane is arrested after tricking Gail Potter into letting him into her flat. Old flames Dave Smith and Blanche Hunt see each other for the first time in years. Hilda Ogden becomes a grandmother for the second time when daughter-in-law Polly Ogden gives birth to 8lbs, 6oz Jayne.
- 1998 - Emily Bishop protests the demolition of the Red Rec by climbing a tree and refusing to come down.
- 2013 - Kirsty Soames halts her wedding to Tyrone Dobbs (who was only going through with the ceremony to gain parental rights to daughter Ruby) and reveals the affair between him and Fiz Stape to the entire congregation.
