- 1951 - Richard Hillman is born.
- 1965 - Annie Walker tells Len Fairclough and Stan Ogden that Frank Turner has been blackmailing Jack Walker. Frank is beaten up, with Jerry Booth later discovered to be responsible.
- 1971 - Alan Howard walks out on wife Elsie when she objects to his son Mark staying with them.
- 1991 - Steve McDonald is horrified when his mum Liz shops his criminal friends to the police for stealing radios. Steve thinks he will be beaten up.
- 1993 - Terry Duckworth is released from prison. He makes an agreement with Jeff and Doreen Horton to sell his son Tommy to his maternal grandparents. Jack and Vera Duckworth thought they would be taking care of the child.
- 1996 - Kelly Thomson leaves Weatherfield for Scotland.
- 2002 - A debt collector shows up at Street Cars and calls in Vikram Desai's debt by driving off in his BMW.
- 2004 - Karen McDonald suffers a miscarriage.
- 2017 - Leanne Battersby loses all her money to con man Chris Anderton.
- 2019 - Vicky Jefferies gives birth to Sonny. Robert Preston is the father.
- 2021 - Steve McDonald reports Curtis Delamere to the police for stealing Oliver Battersby's charity fund of £100,000. The police interrupt Curtis's wedding to Emma Brooker to take him in for questioning. Although he is innocent of the theft, Curtis's previous lies lead Emma to presume his guilt and finish with him.

- 2001 - Edward Evans (Lionel Petty) dies.
- 2013 - After over fifty-three years of continuous production, the final scenes for the programme are shot at the old Granada Television Quay Street studios in Manchester, prior to the move to the MediaCity studios site on 9th January 2014.
