- 3rd January - Hospitalised with sepsis, Carla Connor is told her one kidney is damaged and she will need a transplant.
- 6th January - Mason Radcliffe is stabbed to death by his own brothers, Matty and Logan, after he helps the police in their enquiries as to their part in the death of Becky Swain.
- 9th January - Having been accepted at university to read law, Evelyn Plummer moves out of Coronation Street and into the halls of residence.
- 13th January - Desperate to get out of prison, Rob Donovan stages a hostage-taking in the visitors room to which he brings a supposed peaceful solution involving his fake newly-found religious feelings.
- 15th January - Kevin Webster suspects he has testicular cancer. His wife Abi, traumatised after Mason's stabbing, begins to have hallucinations involving her dead son Seb Franklin.
- 17th January - Lauren Bolton's trial for the murder of Joel Deering begins.
- 22nd January - By a majority verdict, Lauren is found not guilty. Feeling used and rejected by both Daniel Osbourne and Kit Green, Daisy Midgeley announces in the Rovers that she is pregnant and either of them could be the father. Bethany Platt cancels her engagement to Daniel as a result.
- 27th January - Imprisoned gangster Harvey Gaskell puts intense pressure on David Platt to pay him back the money he stole from him. With a shot fired at No.8, the family flee the house and go into hiding.
- 29th January - Unaware that she is poisoning him, Ken Barlow invites Cassie Plummer to move into No.1 as his full time carer.
- 3rd February - No.8 is set on fire. Toyah Habeeb is rescued from inside the building but Max Turner is trapped.
- 4th February - Max is rescued from No.8 as various residents are suspected of being the arsonist.
- 10th February - Shona Platt realises that Max himself was the arsonist, setting to fire to the house as an insurance job to raise the money to pay off Harvey.
- 17th February - After donating a kidney to his sister, Rob stages an escape from hospital taking his recovering though weakened sister as hostage. She manages to overcome him though Rob is injured in a fall.
- 18th February - Rob goes on the run. Debbie Webster pays for Abi to have therapy to overcome her PTSD.
- 24th February - Daniel and Daisy get back together when Daniel mistakenly believes that he's the father of Daisy's baby. Julie Carp tells Todd Grimshaw that she has stage four sarcoma and is dying.
- 26th February - Ken Barlow has a heart attack after an argument with Cassie Plummer when he discovers she is poisoning him. Dylan Wilson is sentenced to six months at the Greenford Secure Training Centre for possession of a bladed article.
