Coronation Street history[]
- 1919 - Albert Tatlock marries Bessie Vickery at St. Mary's Church and they move into 1 Coronation Street. Both start work at Hardcastle's Mill.
- 1929 - Emily Nugent (later Bishop) born.
- 1944 - Alma Halliwell born.
- 1961 - Doreen Lostock begins work at the Rovers. Norman Dobson and Phil Braithwaite become lodgers in the corner shop flat.
- 1964 - Nellie Bailey (formerly Fairclough) dies from lung cancer.
- 1972 - The Pub Olympics between the Rovers and The Flying Horse takes place with the Rovers winning.
- 1982 - Sharon Gaskell makes a pass at Brian Tilsley and he doesn't repulse her advances.
- 1989 - Alan Bradley pleads guilty at his trial for deception and actual bodily harm and gets a two year sentence, but to Rita Fairclough's shock, he is released immediately due to the time spent on remand.
- 1994 - Les Battersby marries Janice Lee.
- 1996 - Ashley Peacock becomes a lodger at No.5.
- 1998 - To stop Mike Baldwin's bullying, Hayley Patterson tells everyone at Underworld that she's a transsexual.
- 1999 - Doreen Heavey leaves husband Derek and dumps herself on Ashley and Maxine Peacock.
- 2002 - Harry Flagg is taken on as cellar man at the Rovers.
- 2004 - Ciaran McCarthy and Tracy Barlow are arrested for trying to deceive Penny King. After Deirdre Rachid intercedes with Mike Baldwin, Penny gets the charges against Tracy dropped but then drops Mike as well when she finds out that he and Deirdre once had an affair.
- 2010 - David Platt is arrested for the attempted murder of Graeme Proctor but is released on bail.
- 2013 - Hayley Cropper tells husband Roy that she wants to be euthanised before the cancer starts to take hold. Roy's reaction and stern refusal to even consider it upsets her and she leaves him.
- 2017 - Katy Armstrong is killed in car crash in Portugal. Chesney Brown and Sinead Tinker get engaged.
- 2019 - David Platt, an inmate in Highfield Prison, finds out that Josh Tucker who raped him eighteen months earlier, has been brought in having committed the same offence again.
- 2021 - Harvey Gaskell escapes from Highfield Prison after the van transporting him to Weatherfield General collides with the Alahans' car. He shoots Natasha Blakeman, believing her to be Leanne Battersby, and is ultimately involved in another collision when Leanne drives her car into a skip to incapacitate him. The Platts sinkhole collapses causing the death of Johnny Connor who drowns after attempting to save Jenny Connor. Despite several surgeries to stem internal bleeding, Natasha succumbs to her injuries the following day.
