- 1922 - Florrie Lindley born.
- 1924 - Maggie Preston (later Clegg and Cooke) born.
- 1967 - Steve Tanner proposes to Elsie Tanner. She accepts.
- 1968 - Les Clegg admits himself to a psychiatric hospital to deal with his alcoholism, as he feels guilty that in a drunken incident he attacked wife Maggie and son Gordon. Maggie takes over the corner shop. Newlyweds Dennis and Jenny Tanner move to Bristol.
- 1995 - Steve McDonald is beaten up by heavies.
- 2000 - Alison and Jake Webster are cremated. When Rebecca Hopkins leaves Weatherfield for Dubai, her heartbroken lover Martin Platt confesses his affair to his wife Gail.
- 2001 - After finding out about Alma Halliwell's terminal illness, Mike Baldwin pledges to stay with Alma during the time she has left.
- 2005 - Rosie Webster decides to become a vegetarian.
- 2015 - Maddie Heath's funeral is held. Jenny Bradley uses the opportunity to snatch Jack Webster and flee in a cab when everyone is away. Brian Packham returns looking for Julie Carp only to find from Beth Sutherland that she is now with Dev Alahan.
- 2016 - Billy Mayhew ends his relationship with Sean Tully as he has developed feelings for Todd Grimshaw.
- 2017 - David Platt publicly reveals that Shona Ramsey is Clayton Hibbs's mother. Eva Price proposes to Aidan Connor in the Rovers.
- 2019 - The Bailey family move into 3 Coronation Street.

- 1965 - Violet Carson is awarded the OBE in the Queen's birthday honours. She collected the award at an investiture at Buckingham Palace on 21st October.
- 1979 - Jodie Prenger (Glenda Shuttleworth) born.
- 2010 - Eileen Derbyshire, Anne Reid and Barbara Knox are all awarded the MBE in the Queen's birthday honours.
